Dearest Reader,

I have chosen to allow the publication of extracts from my diary to right the wrongs done to my good name by that scoundrel Lemony Snicket.

These web pages contain my own entirely truthful and accurate description of the events chronicled in the A Series of Fortunate Events books. I feel that it is only fair that the story of the Baudelaire Fortune -- and the children upon whom it was so wrongly bestowed -- be told from the only point of view that truly matters...mine.

I hope you will enjoy the truth as much as you poor fools seem to enjoy Snicket's lies.
