Eight Mansions
The Eight Mansions or Eight Houses School (Pa Chai) is a part of the Compass School of Feng Shui which emphasises an individual's auspicious and inauspicious directions.
Eight Mansions was one of the first systems of Feng Shui practiced in China. In this school, individuals are classed either as an Eastern Group or Western Group person. These two groups have their individually distinct auspicious and inauspicious directions. Every individual has his own set of auspicious and inauspicious directions based on their Kua number. Practitioners tap into the favourable directions and take advantage of the beneficial chi to improve specific aspects of a person's life.
Eight Aspirations
A branch of Compass Feng Shui originally developed in the early 660AD by what is now known as the Bagua School. Eight Aspirations is based on the Bagua. Here, each of the eight compass directions directly influences one of the eight life aspirations. Though this school's teachings are somewhat inaccessible, this Feng Shui technique has become the most popular and easily applied form used in the West.
Flying Star
Flying Star Feng Shui is the traditional style of Feng Shui that the Asian peoples have practiced for centuries. Essentially, it is the analysis and manipulation of chi and the patterns of chi in our environment.
