JetPac

Still my all-time favourite game, JetPac is a classic.

Another fiendishly simple game, all you have to do is build and fuel your rocket ships so that you can move on to the next world. In your way are a host of space monsters who fly around and kill you on contact. All you have is your trusty laser and your jetpac. After four or five worlds, you get to build another ship, then another and another...

I'm still not sure if I can identify why I like this game so much. It is undoubtedly well done (for its time), easy to pick up and play but never easy to leave. JetPac just has that something that all games need. I'd rather play this than any game written since.

The Jetman appeared in more games: Lunar Jetman on the Speccy and Solar Jetman on the NES. Lunar Jetman is a great game but lacks the simple pull of the original.
