Advice On Colour

A few half-pans of color are all a beginner really needs. Half-pans are small blocks of color and are available in less expensive "student" quality.

You can buy beginners kits with paints (usually a dozen), brush and palette all in one handy case. Alternatively, you could purchase only half a dozen colors and still paint all of the examples give on this site.

Those colors are :

1. Prussian Blue or Phthalo Blue
2. French Blue
3. Crimson
4. Burnt Sienna
5. Yellow Ochre
6. Pale Cadmium or Aureoline

From this selection you can mix any color you need and, with so few, you'll keep your painting simple.
